TIGRE

TIGRE is a robotic, long-range, self-powered non-destructive evaluation (NDE) inspection system for unpiggable transmission and high-pressure distribution gas pipelines. TIGRE will enable the inspection of unpiggable gas mains resulting from insufficient flow, containing plug-valves, sharp bends, unbarred Ts and other such obstacles. The TIGRE system is an entirely new type of gas pipe inspection system incorporating novel communications hardware and software, locomotion design, sensor packaging and integration engineering.

TIGRE technology has several U.S. and international patents issued and pending. The system was licensed to the Northeast Gas Association in 2007 for commercialization once the system is complete.
