PortaCon

PortaCon-VHC (Portable Controllers-Video Hand Controller) is a new hand-controller for remote operation of automated equipment or robotic platforms. The system is extremely rugged and is suitable for bright outdoor conditions with an alpha-numeric LCD display and a dual video (NTSC) and computer-generated (RGB) display-capable screen with text overlay. Dual analog joysticks, dual rocker-switches, and multiple software-assignable momentary pushbuttons allow for a large control space for many applications. Glue-on overlays allow for permanent assignment of buttons and customer graphics and logos. Standard serial interface with bi-directional communications, low power consumption, and pre-configured software libraries, allow for a generic package suited for almost any application where a remote human interface is needed.
